The connector features a durable black thermoplastic housing with a UL94V-0 flame rating, offering dependable protection against heat and ignition. Its shielding is made of 0.20 mm thick brass, pre-plated with semi-bright nickel (≥ 0.76 µm) and finished with a SAC solder dip (≥ 2.54 µm) at the grounding points to enhance EMI performance.
Inside, the contacts are stamped from phosphor bronze, sized at 0.46 mm × 0.25 mm, and finished with a 0.27 µm nickel underlayer. At the mating interface, selective gold plating (≥ 1.27 µm) ensures reliable signal transmission and strong resistance to wear. The solder tails, formed from copper-clad steel (0.50 mm square), are coated with matte tin (≥ 2.54 µm) for stable and consistent solder joints.
For signaling or link indication, the design offers flexible visual options—either a transparent UL94V-0 rated polycarbonate light pipe or diffused epoxy LED lenses (0.50 mm). The LED version uses carbon steel wireframe leads, plated with silver (≥ 2.03 µm) over nickel (≥ 0.02 µm) and copper (≥ 1.02 µm), then finished with tin (≥ 2.54 µm) to ensure consistent electrical performance over time.
